In continuing to make its mark as a live music venue in Providence, The Rooftop at the Providence G is proud to present it’s capstone event of the season - A summer concert under the stars with Donavon Frankenreiter. To be held on Tuesday, August 8th, The Rooftop will be transformed into an intimate concert venue for two hundred concert-goers during what is sure to be a memorable evening in Providence.
Donavon Frankenreiter's new album, "The Heart," officially marks the start of the singer-songwriter's second decade as a solo recording artist. It's been over ten years since the release of his self-titled debut, and in that time he has grown, not only as a musician, but also as a man. He's raising a family and nurturing two creative careers-one onstage, one in the waves-but on top of all that, he's still learning what makes him tick. And so, naturally, he named his album after his ticker.
Over the past several months, The Rooftop at the Providence G has introduced countless musicians from all over the region. The Unplugged Singer-Songwriter Series occurs weekly on Mondays, showcasing the talents of local performers, and nationally-touring groups. On Tuesday evenings The Rooftop hosts piano entertainer Billy Musto. Diverse weekly sets by Rhode Island bands on Wednesdays and Thursday range from steel drums and keyboard to surf rock and jam bands.
Brendan Chipley Roane, Marketing Manager for G Hospitality eagerly looks forward to this special event. “It’s been wonderful hosting talented musicians from all over the country these past few months. This evening is definitely our capstone event of the season, and we are very excited for Donavon to perform on The Rooftop. There are very few upscale restaurant & lounges in the area that have live entertainment seven days a week, let alone on a rooftop relaxing by a firepit.”
Doors open at 7pm. Opening act by Matt Grundy at 8pm. Donavon Frankenreiter at 9:15pm. General admission tickets are $40. There are also a limited number of tables for four, hightops for two, and firepit seating available, with prices ranging from $60-$400, and the higher-priced tickets being 4-pack tickets which include seating at a table directly in front of the stage.
